Glossary: X-WINDOWS

A graphical input/output foundation used extensively on Unix systems. X doesn't provide a complete GUI but rather the input and output control a GUI uses. This means that you can select from dozens of different desktop's if you're running Linux or Unix from Window's look-a-likes to the outlandish - but very attractive - Enlightenment.
