Glossary: SDI

"Serial Digital Interface". A standard used in broadcast and high end video systems which descibes how to transmit digital component video over a coaxial cable.

The benefits include:

No loss of resolution or qulity due to analogue->digital and vice versa conversion
No noise or artifacts created due to conversion
No loss of quality due to poor cables
