The Extron MVC 121 xi is a compact, three source audio mixer featuring audio DSP for mixing and signal processing. The MVC 121 xi provides a stereo line level input and two mic/line level inputs with 48 volt phantom power for condenser microphones, plus fixed and variable stereo line level outputs. It offers gain, filters, bass and treble tone controls, along with parametric EQ. Quick and intuitive configuration of essential parameters is possible using the front panel controls or DSP Configurator Pro software. The MVC 121 xi is ideal for basic presentation applications that require line and microphone audio mixing with audio DSP in a small form factor.

Audio DSP

The audio DSP built into the MVC 121 xi provides wide dynamic range and utilizes 24-bit audio converters with 48 kHz sampling to maintain audio signal transparency. Convenient, easy-to-configure tools are available to control levels, filters, dynamics processing, bass and treble shelving filters, and parametric EQ.

Easy-to-Use DSP Configurator Pro Software

DSP Configurator Pro software features an intuitive on-screen layout that offers fast access to digital audio signal processing tools as well as audio mixing. Designers can quickly get a snapshot view of the entire audio system, including processing blocks and mix points.

Flexible Mixer

The MVC 121 xi features a stereo line level input and two mic/line level inputs, each of which are mixed into the fixed and variable stereo line level outputs. It is a quick and effective audio mixing solution for adding microphone capability to a new or existing system. The variable line level output can be sent to a PA system, while the fixed line level output can be routed to an assistive listening system.

Versatile Control Options

The MVC 121 xi can conveniently be controlled and configured via RS-232 serial control or USB. It also includes digital input ports, which allow for external muting control without a control system.

Mixes two microphone inputs and one stereo line input to two stereo outputs - Two mono microphone or line level inputs are mixed with a stereo line level input to fixed and variable stereo line level outputs.

Audio DSP on all inputs - The MVC 121 xi provides gain, filter, and tone processing for quick and easy audio system configuration.
Selectable front panel input and output level adjustment - A large rotary encoder and three select buttons provide Group adjustment, which is displayed on an eight segment LED. When no input is selected, the encoder controls the variable output level and the display indicates the output level.
DSP Configurator Pro provides an intuitive graphical user environment - A powerful and user-friendly PC-based software tool for managing all audio operations of the MVC 121 xi. It enables complete setup and configuration of digital audio processing tools with a clear view of all inputs and outputs, audio processing blocks, routing, and mix points in a single window.
Four digital input ports for remote mute triggering - Four digital input ports are provided, so that each input and the variable output can be individually muted by remote trigger.
Predictable, low latency hardware DSP - Input to output latency is fixed within the MVC 121 xi, regardless of the number of active channels or processes. Predictable, low latency processing keeps audio in sync with video, and prevents distractions to a presenter resulting from delayed live audio.
48 volt phantom power - The MVC 121 xi is equipped with selectable 48 volt phantom power for the mic inputs, enabling the use of condenser microphones.
24-bit/48 kHz analog-to-digital and digital-to-Analogue converters - High performance converters preserve audio integrity in input and output signal conversion, while maintaining latency.
Fixed and variable stereo line level outputs - The fixed output is ideal for recording devices or other equipment such as ALS - assistive listening systems, while the variable output is designed to drive a power amplifier.
Multi-function LED level indicator - Displays the selected input gain adjustment or output volume setting and acts as an output level meter.
Front panel USB-C configuration port - Enables easy configuration via DSP Configurator Pro software without having to access the rear panel.
Deployable without software - Quick and intuitive configuration of essential parameters is possible using only the front panel controls.
RS-232 control port - Using SIS commands, the MVC 121 xi can be integrated into a control system.
Live and Emulate operating modes with configuration file saving - Live mode allows integrators to connect to the MVC 121 xi with DSP Configurator Pro to make live parameter adjustments while hearing or metering them in real-time. This avoids the need to compile and upload a configuration file to the DSP. Emulation mode allows settings to be configured offline, then uploaded to the MVC 121 xi. The software also downloads configuration files from the mixer for archiving.
Soft limits provide optimal group master adjustment range - Group master volume range can be limited using soft limits to maintain optimal minimum and maximum levels when using external volume control. This prevents operators from over or under-adjusting levels. DSP Configurator Pro provides quick software control of soft limits from the Group Controls screen.
Front panel security lockout - The MVC 121 xi offers various levels of front panel security lockout to prevent unauthorized use in permanent installations.
