The Extron DTP3 T 321 is a long-distance, digital twisted pair transmitter for sending USB‑C video, embedded audio, USB data, power, and bidirectional RS‑232 signals up to 330 feet (100 meters) over a shielded CAT 6A cable. It provides one USB‑C input, a local HDMI output, and two USB device ports. The transmitter supports video resolutions up to 4K/60 at 4:4:4 Colour sampling, EDID Minder®, and HDCP 2.3. For maximum image quality and minimal latency, all supported video resolutions are transported without compression. The DTP3 T 321 features built-in 60 watt USB-C device charging and supports up to 100 watt power delivery when deployed with the Extron UPI 100 power inserter. Local host and device connections supporting USB 10Gbps data and remote power for DTP3 receivers facilitate integration in demanding professional environments.

Full Support for USB‑C Video, Data, Power Delivery, and Extension

The DTP3 T 321 enables the reliable, long distance transmission of USB‑C DisplayPort alt-mode video supporting Deep Color, 3D, and embedded HD lossless audio formats. The USB‑C input supports the three functions of video/audio, USB data, and device charging over a single cable. This all-in-one connection eliminates the need for laptops to have a separate power or USB data connection and streamlines the user experience with a single cable. The DTP3 T 321 provides 60 watts of standard device charging power, and up to 100 watts with the addition of the UPI 100 power inserter.

The DTP3 T 321 incorporates extensive USB data capabilities to support UC collaboration environments. The USB‑C input and the two device ports support up to USB 10Gbps. The transmitter can also access remote USB 2 devices connected to a DTP3 R 331 receiver. This enables cameras, microphones, mice, and keyboards installed in the room to be available to the connected USB host.

BYOM Convenience

Bring Your Own Meeting (BYOM) spaces offer collaborative spaces for local and remote users without the need for more complicated room setups that use dedicated computers, switching and control equipment. BYOM spaces can use USB cameras and microphones in conjunction with portable laptops brought by the users. The DTP3 T 321 allows users to operate USB-connected equipment in the room. These spaces are more convenient for users, less expensive to set up and maintain, and offer more flexibility. They also serve a dual function by operating as traditional presentation spaces when users want to present content locally and don't need to run a UC meeting. BYOM spaces feature powerful and effective local and remote collaboration capabilities for today's meeting and collaboration rooms.

Features that Steamline Integration

To enhance and simplify integration of devices and to help ensure optimal system performance, the DTP3 T 321 features Extron EDID Minder, which automatically manages EDID by maintaining continuous EDID communication with each source. The technology ensures that the sources power up properly and reliably output content for display.

Front panel LED indicators provide immediate visual confirmation of signal presence for the input, as well as HDCP status and power. On the back panel, LEDs indicate signal presence and link status for the output. An HDMI input loop-out provides an output signal to drive a local monitor.

Convenient Control and Power

The DTP3 T 321 provides many other integrator-friendly features designed to help simplify installation. It supports simultaneous transmission of bidirectional RS‑232 from a control system for AV device control. The transmitter can be configured to provide power to the connected DTP3 receiver, simplifying installation. In addition, the DTP3 output can be configured to send video and embedded audio, plus bidirectional RS‑232 signals to an HDBaseT-enabled display. It is backward compatible with first-generation DTP-enabled products.

For added convenience, a USB‑C configuration port on the front panel offers ready access to information and easy updating of firmware. Configuration of the DTP3 T 321 is made simple with Extron's PCS - Product Configuration Software and its user-friendly GUI that is very easy to navigate. This software application allows for expedited setup, commissioning, real-time operation and monitoring.

The DTP3 T 321 transmitter is housed in a standard half rack width metal enclosure. To ensure optimal performance with DTP3 systems, Extron recommends XTP DTP 22 cables and accessories. These 22-gauge shielded twisted pair cables, shielded RJ‑45 plugs, jacks, and couplers have been engineered for optimum performance for DTP3 products running at 18 Gbps. Extron XTP DTP 22 cable bandwidth is verified to 500 MHz and utilizes a S/FTP design with four shielded 22 AWG twisted pair conductors inside an overall braided shield for superior performance and noise immunity.
