Extron IN2004 (60-1962-01)
4:1*2 HDMI 2.0b Seamless Scaling Switcher with mirrored output
4 × HDMI inputs; 2 × HDMI outputs
The Extron DTP3 IN2004 Series are compact four-input scalers that support video resolutions up to 4K/60 at 4:4:4 and incorporate Extron DTP3 technology to extend AV and control signals up to 330 feet (100 meters) over a shielded CAT 6A cable. Integrating HDMI and audio sources into presentation systems, the DTP3 IN2004 Series features Extron-patented Vector™ 4K scaling technology engineered for critical video processing applications. All models deliver fast and reliable switching and provide features such as seamless transition effects, logo keying, configurable input loop-through, audio embedding/de-embedding, mixing, and ducking. Loaded with these capabilities and more, the DTP3 IN2004 Series is ideal for boardrooms, lecture halls, and other professional AV venues. When signal extension is not needed, the IN2004 is also available.
Vector 4K Scaling
The DTP3 IN2004 Series incorporates Extron Vector 4K scaling technology, developed in‑house, and engineered to deliver best-in-class image upscaling and downscaling. The Vector 4K engine embodies a complete set of image processing algorithms that ensure uncompromising scaling performance with 30‑bit precision processing. This enables sharp, accurate scaling of standard definition and high definition signals up to 4K, as well as downscaling of 4K source signals for lower resolution displays without losing critical image detail.
For professional-quality transitions between sources, the scalers offer a range of switching effects. These include a freeze/fade transition that fades out a final frozen frame of the previous input source as the newly selected source fades in, a cut through black transition, and a fade through black transition. In addition, a custom graphic image, such as a company logo, can be inserted onto the video output. Supported logo file formats include PNG, BMP, JPEG, GIF, TIFF. Selectable FILL and FOLLOW modes are available to set the desired video aspect ratio. FILL mode provides full screen output, while FOLLOW mode preserves the original signal’s aspect ratio.
Comprehensive EDID Management
To ensure professional AV systems perform as designed, it is crucial that EDID communication between video sources and sink devices is managed properly. Correct management of EDID allows source equipment to send video and audio signals in formats and parameters that best match display device capabilities. Mishandling of EDID could result in suboptimal image quality, no image, and/or poor sound.
The DTP3 IN2004 Series features a suite of Extron-exclusive tools and capabilities for complete control over EDID management. In addition to EDID captured from connected displays or uploaded by the user, EDID Minder® provides a library of EDID files that can be applied to any video input. EDID Minder is easily accessible in PCS software. The newest version of EDID Manager is a freely downloadable Windows® utility for viewing and editing EDID files. This software enables video format optimization, chroma sampling and color bit depth manipulation, and adjustment to audio capabilities. Edited files may be saved, added to the library, and easily applied to devices within the system.
Audio Flexibility
The DTP3 IN2004 Series provides extensive processing and control of audio signals to optimize the user experience. It allows adjustment of the input audio format, audio gain/attenuation, mixing, ducking, audio mutes, analog output format, and output volume. The configuration software supports input and output audio meters to facilitate installation and troubleshooting. The stereo/mono balanced/unbalanced analog audio line input can be mixed with program audio and/or audio file playback.
All models have two audio output paths: Digital Out 1A/1B/1C with DTP3 and an analog 5-pole captive screw output on the rear panel. These two output groups each have unique DSP functions for mixing, filtering, and dynamics. Each individual output connector supports discrete audio mute control. Integrated Digital Twisted Pair Extension
The DTP3 IN2004 DI/DO model includes a DTP3 twisted pair input to receive signals from remote DTP3 and first-generation DTP transmitters located at a conference table, lectern, or wall. It also has a DTP3 output to send AV and control signals to a DTP3 or first-generation DTP receiver mounted at a projector, behind a display, or any other remote location. The DTP3 IN2004 DO model features DTP3 extension at the output only. DTP3 connections include additional convenient, integrator-friendly features. Bidirectional RS-232 signals can be inserted from a control system and transmitted over the single shielded CAT 6A cable together with the video and audio, enabling control of a source or display. Additionally, the DTP3 IN2004 Series can send power to a DTP3 or first-generation DTP endpoint over the same cable. This scaler can also be configured for compatibility with HDBaseT™-enabled displays to send digital video and embedded audio, plus bidirectional control, up to 330 feet (100 meters) over the shielded CAT 6A cable.
In addition to supporting DTP3 endpoints, the DTP3 IN2004 Series is compatible with XTP Systems®. This is ideal for facility-wide AV system applications with a centralized AV signal distribution infrastructure, as well as several presentation spaces with local AV switching and processing. It can connect into an XTP CrossPoint® matrix switcher in a central equipment rack or closet to receive shared AV resources or to send a local presentation to one or more remote destinations.
Diverse Options for System Control and Operation
The DTP3 IN2004 Series supports automatic AV system control and operation with or without an external control processor. Standard, built‑in CEC commands can be triggered to control displays or other AV devices connected to the HDMI or DTP3 outputs. It also provides automatic switching between inputs with selectable priority modes for intuitive operation. Remote configuration and control are available via Ethernet, USB and RS‑232, plus contact closure with tally output for input switching and muting. The contact and tally ports are compatible with Extron Show Me cables and may also be configured for independent use when the scaler is connected to an external control processor.
Front panel controls and on-screen menus provide quick access to system settings. The DTP3 IN2004 Series can also be configured using Extron's PCS software with a user‑friendly GUI that is very easy to navigate. This software application allows for expedited setup and commissioning, real-time operation and monitoring, plus the ability to configure multiple Extron products in the same session. The USB‑C® configuration port on the front panel enables easy system configuration without having to access the rear panel. Built-in Web pages accessible by a standard browser simplify device monitoring and troubleshooting.
Convenient Under-Table and Surface Mounting
The DTP3 IN2004 Series is housed in compact 1U, half rack width metal enclosure that can be installed virtually anywhere, including inconspicuous placement underneath a conference table, inside a credenza, or within a lectern. Extron UTS Series and MBU 123 mounting hardware are available separately to facilitate under‑table and surface mounting.
